MRO Today
The People’s Choice

Eight American plant workers who made a major impact on their company were elected as the members of MRO Today’s fifth annual All-Pro Team

by Paul V. Arnold

Last month, Americans cast their ballot for the president of our country and made their choice for the members of MRO Today magazine’s fifth annual MRO All-Pro Team.

The people who elected our All-Pro Team were a hand-picked group representing a variety of job functions and segments of the manufacturing industry. The issues that influenced their votes were the same as those that influenced our choice for president of the United States:
• Experience and know-how.
• The ability to lead.
• The ability to make tough decisions.
• Diplomacy and people skills.
• The ability to see the future and chart a course to get there.

More than 50 candidates — all of them non-management production, maintenance and purchasing workers at U.S. industrial facilities — were considered. Each of these plant-floor leaders was nominated this fall by a co-worker or supervisor. From the list of candidates, the All-Pros were chosen.

Members of this year’s class receive an All-Pro Team plaque, MRO Today T-shirt and a prize donated by an MRO Today advertiser.

The eight people elected to the 2004 MRO All-Pro Team are:
Elsie Goforth, lean coordinator, Nordson Corp., Swainsboro, Ga.; and Ben Lopez, lean coordinator, Nordson Corp., Norcross, Ga. Elsie and Ben were chosen as the co-recipients of the 2004 MRO Today Pro of the Year award.
