MRO Today unveils its 2nd annual All-Pro Team — real American heroes making a difference in the manufacturing industry

by Paul V. Arnold

Well-trained, disciplined, focused, elite.

These words have been used in recent months to describe the men and women safeguarding our country in this turbulent time. They are soldiers, police officers, fire fighters, and local, state and federal officials.

But these words also can describe the men and women watching out for American manufacturing companies. They hold job titles such as maintenance mechanic, assembly line worker, MRO buyer and tool crib attendant.

With quality work, leadership, bright ideas and incredible vision, these non-managers help keep industry safe and strong. Some call them plant heroes. MRO Today calls them MRO All-Pros.

This fall, MRO Today accepted nominations for the second annual All-Pro Team, our salute to blue-collar brilliance. From a list of 40 semifinalists, MRO Today selected the best of the best for the 2001 honor roll.

Members of this year’s class receive an MRO All-Pro Team plaque, an exclusive MRO Pro baseball cap and a prize donated by an MRO Today advertiser.

The 2001 All-Pro Team includes:

Denise Augustine, maintenance technician, The Pillsbury Company, Murfreesboro, Tenn. Denise also was named our 2001 Pro of the Year.

Bob Stover, maintenance coordinator, ALSTOM Power Conversion, Pittsburgh.

Ginny Webster, MRO buyer, Grove Gear — a division of Regal-Beloit, Union Grove, Wis.
