Put best practices in one place
Johnson Controls technicians worked with vibration engineers to document procedures in a simple two-ring reference that establishes best maintenance practices for chiller and HVAC systems, says Cheryl White, service operations manager.
The 4" x 5" binder is printed on heavy stock, making it easy to use on the job.
This reference is a part of training that helps technicians understand what they do, how they do it and why it is important, she says.
It contains step-by-step tips for data collection and other tricky repair procedures.
The technicians love it because it incorporates their approaches and is much more understandable than typical documentation. We continually update it as better ideas appear, she says. It has created a sharing environment for the best ideas. That helps our technicians as well as the entire organization.
