MRO Today is committed to providing you a road map to 21st-century manufacturing success. Here are some of the ways we’re doing that.

Best practice cover stories: MRO Today is your benchmarking resource. We travel to the country’s top industrial plants and spend time on the shop floor with the management and non-management leaders enacting real change. Our cover stories explain how these companies attained supply chain, maintenance, production, engineering and/or safety excellence, and how you can incorporate many of their best practices. This issue’s cover story outlines Harley-Davidson’s unique approach to supplier relations. Harley’s actions provide lessons for us all.

Award-winning articles: Count on MRO Today for quality information. I’m proud to announce that for the second year in a row, MRO Today won an Award of Editorial Excellence from the American Society of Business Publication Editors.

"Thinking outside the box," an in-depth story on the future of manufacturing, as modeled by the Batesville Casket Company, won in this year’s competition. Last year, MRO Today won for "Six Sigma," a story detailing the AlliedSignal Corporation’s utilization of the quality/continuous improvement tool.

ASBPE received more than 2,500 entries for its 2001 competition.

Relationships: You may have noticed two additions last issue. Larry Lynch, the director of business development for the Disney Institute, became our fourth MRO Coach, providing insights each issue on training and people management. And, the Association for Manufacturing Excellence became the seventh industrial professional organization to endorse MRO Today as an important source of information for its members.

Our ever-growing pool of information and networking resources helps improve your professional status and increase the value you bring to your company.

mrotoday.com: Our Web site is the daily version of MRO Today magazine. We have hundreds of articles on every aspect of manufacturing excellence. A large percentage are articles — case studies, columns, product application stories, how-to tips — that do not appear in our print publication. We also provide manufacturing industry news updated every day.

On the site, you can also cement your magazine subscription by filling out our online subscription form.

As always, I want MRO Today to be your magazine. Let me know how I can make MRO Today an even more important resource for you.
