Meet MRO Todays
MRO All-Pro Team 2006
And the winners are
! These six plant workers have been chosen as the members MRO Todays sixth annual All-Pro team. The true winners are the plant operators who are lucky enough to have these dedicated professionals as employees.
Each year, MRO Today magazine pauses from its coverage of best practices in what are often mega corporations to recognize the individuals who make those companies look so good and perform so well. If youre lucky, you have a few All-Pros in your plant and, if you do, theyre easy to spot.
These are the people for whom pride in their work no longer applies they have a true passion; to make sure equipment is properly maintained, lines keep running and downtime is kept a minimum.
They know the floor and every piece of equipment on it so thoroughly that they seem to elevate TPM to a new level: Total Precognitive Maintenance.
The hallmark of an All-Pro is that when things go wrong, when the crap literally starts hitting the fan and who you gonna call, their names come up first, last and always.
They are also the first to volunteer for special projects, to help install and calibrate new equipment, totally ovehaul the old, or help launch and champion new Lean tools and programs.
They lead by example and teach by doing. They mentor, often without being asked. They are the people you can always count on and without whom your job would be a lot more difficult.
So, with them in mind, this is our annual (somewhat belated) Thanksgiving to and for them. Theres no turkey and stuffing but there is the soul food of recognition and some pretty excellent prizes!
And, for their contributions of prizes for our winners, we also wish to thank our generous sponsors: Carhartt, Channellock, Hitachi, Ironclad, Irwin Industrial Tool, Makita, Milwaukee Electric Tool and Motorola. These companies, who, with us, realize the true value of the American worker, deserve our gratitude and support.
So, without further ado, here is your 2006 MRO All-Pro Team:
Ray Bohannon, maintenance team member, Copeland Corporation, Lebanon, Missouri
John Chip Dristas, plant foreman, Dan Copp Crushing, Anaheim, California
Maggie Hellner, shipping department and material handling leader, Senninger Irrigation, Inc., Orlando, Florida
Bob Curelo, maintenance group leader, Signode Midwest, Bridgeview, Illinois
David Natishak, maintenance mechanic, United States Postal Service, Plattsburgh, New York
Mike McMullen, Class 4 maintenance associate, Channellock, Inc., Meadville, Pennsylvania.
Congratulations, everyone!
